The Staff from a chopstick to a three body length pole and all in between, the Broadsword (Knife) single and double, The Straight Sword single and double, the Lance (Spear) and the loose weapons such as rope, 3 sectional staff and steel whip.
A weapon is considered to be an extension of the body, each of the 5 weapons relates to one of the 5 Elements and 5 Animal Characters. The Staff is the wise man's weapon, the Spear or Lance is the King of weapons and handled with sophistication, it is the Nobleman's weapon, the Broadsword (Knife) is the Layman's weapon, the Straight Sword is also revered weapon which is handled in a subtle and gentle manner, it is the Gentleman's weapon and the Loose weapons (Whip Chain, 3 Sectional Staff or even the nunchaku is handled within the scope of our systems principles as well as the Empty Hand against any Weapon is the Crafty person's weapon or character (surprising and concealed movements). Our
Our Weapons curriculum is based on the 5 Element Theory related to the 5 Animal Strategy, this is an interesting topic for anyone wanting to learn the ART of Kung Fu, it also forms the foundation of our internal Kung-fu system. Also, there are short and long weapons as well as improvised weapons which we categorise our weapons curriculum accordingly.
All the weapons assist one to achieve great martial skills and require attention to detail, through arduous practice, one will develop more strength and stamina while increasing mind and body awareness and coordination.
Although each weapon has different characteristic's as do the empty hand 5 fist methods in our Kung-Fu system, the functional principles remain the same allowing a complete integration of all hand and weapons training and applications, unifying all the different elements and characteristics into one.
