There are three specific empty hand Combative Art programs and one Weapons program. The empty hand programs consist of two main Adult and one Junior program. The Junior program is based on the animal style Kung-Fu which is a grading based curriculum and the Adult programs consist of two different types of programs, Self-Defense and Kung-fu.
There are two Self-defense programs, the Street Smart Self-defence and the Women's Self-defense program. the Self-defense programs differ from the Kung-fu programs as they do not have a grading requirement.
There are two levels to our Kung-fu curriculum, the entry level starts with the Black Sash program that requires students to grade with a coloured sash ranking system starting with a Yellow sash to a Black Sash. Once a student achieves their Black Sash, they may advance to the Master's program which is the most advanced student curriculum and program AIMA delivers apart from the Instructors course. The Master's program also includes a grading system but is different to the Black Sash grading system as the curriculum is more advanced and uses an advanced training method which proceeds from the Black Sash curriculum. In fact, the Black Sash program is a pre-requisite to the Master's program. The Master's program also prepares the student to become a Sifu or a Simu in conjunction with AIMA's instructor course.
The Weapons program is split into two age groups, there is a Junior Weapons program (8 to 14 years) and an Adult Weapons program (15+).
The Combative Arts represent predominantly combative systems for the purpose of Self-defence with or without a philosophical base as its underlying heritage and cultural background. Without the philosophy, a combative system would relate strictly to the self-defence techniques based on a physical and emotional defensive practice and response against an opponents abrupt and abusive behaviours within a social and community environment.
AIMA offers both aspects of the Combative Arts, on the Philosophical side we deliver the Internal Art of Kung-Fu which is an amazing Combative System if you know how to use it correctly.
Being that AIMA delivers an appropriate combative internal Kung-fu system, it is an exceptional Self-defence which requires a deeper and more thorough study and practice than the basic Self-defence programs which are a not as deep in the philosophical aspects of the self-defence system. The Art of Kung-Fu is also taught in a much more complete manner including Principles from ancient philosophical concepts, these concepts are used to create the foundation the system rests upon and for building the art as well as one's combative skills and strategies.
Trial our Self-defence or Kung Fu programs out for yourself and experience this great philosophical system and a true combative art.
There are two main Kung Fu categories in China, the Internal and the External. In between both categories lies an array of systems that have elements of both extremes. Our Kung-fu system is of the Internal category and is called "Wu Chi Chuan" and is delivered through the Black Sash program which is a curriculum-based program.
